After a life-changing car accident, Kirsty O’Connor from County Tipperary, Ireland, knew she was destined for a career as an occupational therapist.
Following a remarkable recovery fuelled by determination, a positive mental attitude and support from those around her, Kirsty achieved that goal. This story is as inspirational as it is incredible.
For years Kirsty has been trying to track down the Occupational Therapist who Kirsty credits with "giving me back my voice, my self dignity and changing the course of my life and career."
Kirsty now works at Seating Matters as Occupational Therapist and Clinical Training Manager. In this role she is helping educate thousands of people around the world on the importance of correct seating assessment and provision. It is her goal to ensure that as many people as possible are seated correctly, reducing risk of falls, pressure injury and improving individuals' outcomes.
Within seating and healthcare equipment, Kirsty has special interest areas in posture, mobility and dementia care.
